After breakfast, meet your private Egyptologist guide for a day exploring Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Visit the pyramids, panoramic viewpoints and Great Sphinx before continuing to the museum. Your guide will introduce the collections and the people and beliefs behind the objects on display. Lunch is included during the day. Return to your hotel after the tour. This sightseeing day is private for your booked party. Overnight: Cairo hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to Cairo Airport for your domestic flight to Luxor. Meet the local team and join your small sightseeing group to visit Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. Settle into your five-star hotel, with time to take a break and prepare for eclipse day. Overnight: Luxor hotel.

4Day 4: Monday 2 August 2027 | Eclipse on the cruise sun deck in Luxor
After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to your five-star Nile cruise for embarkation and access to the sun deck before the eclipse. Attend the viewing briefing and settle in with eclipse glasses, drinking water, seating and shaded rest space available. The ship remains in Luxor for the viewing programme. Keep the central part of the day free to follow the eclipse. Lunch and dinner are served onboard as part of your full-board cruise. This is the first of four nights aboard. Overnight: Nile cruise in Luxor.

5Day 5: Tuesday 3 August 2027 | Luxor West Bank and sailing south
After breakfast, set out early with your small group to explore the Valley of the Kings. Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut and stop at the Colossi of Memnon. Return to the ship for lunch and continue south, passing through the Esna Lock as the sailing schedule allows. Enjoy the changing river scenery before dinner onboard. Overnight: Nile cruise en route towards Edfu.

Where will we watch the eclipse?
The eclipse experience is planned on your cruise sun deck while the ship is in Luxor on 2 August. Organised viewing access, eclipse glasses, a briefing, drinking water, seating and shaded rest space are included. Lunch is served onboard as part of the full-board cruise.
Is the whole holiday private?
Cairo sightseeing is private for your booked party. Sightseeing elsewhere takes place in a small group. The cruise ship and viewing facilities may accommodate people beyond that group; exclusive use is not included.
When do we arrive in Luxor?
You fly from Cairo to Luxor on 1 August and stay in a five-star hotel that night. Cruise embarkation and sun-deck access are planned before eclipse viewing on 2 August. No domestic flight is scheduled for eclipse day.
Which meals are included?
Hotels are booked on a bed-and-breakfast basis, and the four-night cruise is full board. Lunch is also included on the Cairo sightseeing day. The itinerary includes eight breakfasts, five lunches and four dinners. Eclipse-day lunch is included onboard. Hotel dinners are excluded.
Which flights are included?
Domestic flights from Cairo to Luxor and Aswan to Cairo are included, together with the organised transfers required by the itinerary. International flights are excluded. The final night is in Cairo, before your international departure the following day.
Are eclipse glasses included?
Yes. Eclipse glasses and a viewing briefing are included. Use the glasses during the partial phases and follow the briefing instructions. Ordinary sunglasses are unsuitable for direct solar viewing. Cameras, binoculars and telescopes require their own appropriate solar protection.
Are the Great Pyramid interior and special tomb tickets included?
Standard entrance tickets for the listed sightseeing are included. Entry inside the Great Pyramid and separately ticketed tombs are excluded unless expressly added to your booking.
Can I add Abu Simbel?
Abu Simbel is optional at additional cost. Ask us to assess a suitable arrangement around the cruise and domestic flights. It is not included in the base itinerary and may require a change to the travel plan.
Which hotels and cruise ship will we use?
The holiday uses five-star hotels and a five-star Nile cruise. Your quotation will identify the specific hotels, ship and room or cabin categories. The route includes two initial Cairo nights, one Luxor hotel night, four cruise nights and one final Cairo night.
Can you guarantee clear skies?
No. The viewing arrangements are planned around the eclipse, but visibility depends on weather and conditions on the day.
