After breakfast, meet your private Egyptologist guide for a day exploring Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Visit the pyramids, panoramic viewpoints and Great Sphinx before continuing to the museum. Your guide will introduce the collections and the people and beliefs behind the objects on display. Lunch is included during the day. Return to your hotel after the tour. This sightseeing day is private for your booked party. Overnight: Cairo hotel.

After breakfast, join the organised viewing programme in a suitable outdoor area at your Luxor hotel. Attend the briefing and settle in with eclipse glasses, drinking water, seating and shaded rest space available. The central part of the day is reserved for the eclipse, and lunch is included. Afterwards, enjoy time to relax at the same hotel, with no flight or hotel change scheduled. Overnight: Luxor hotel.

5Day 5: Tuesday 3 August 2027 | West Bank sightseeing and return to Cairo
After breakfast, begin early with a small-group visit to the Valley of the Kings. Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut and stop at the Colossi of Memnon. Allow time for a break before transferring to Luxor Airport for your flight to Cairo. Meet the Cairo team and continue to your five-star hotel. Overnight: Cairo hotel.

Where will we watch the eclipse?
The eclipse experience is planned in a suitable outdoor area at your Luxor hotel on 2 August. Organised viewing access, eclipse glasses, a briefing, drinking water, seating and shaded rest space are included. Eclipse-day lunch is also included.
Does this tour include a Nile cruise?
No. All five nights are in five-star hotels: three in Cairo and two in Luxor. Travel between Cairo and Luxor is by domestic flight.
Is the sightseeing private?
Cairo sightseeing is private for your booked party. Luxor sightseeing takes place in a small group. Hotel and viewing facilities may accommodate people beyond your sightseeing group; exclusive use is not included.
Do we fly on eclipse day?
No. You arrive in Luxor on 1 August, stay in the same hotel on eclipse night and return to Cairo on 3 August. Your final night is in Cairo before international departure on 4 August.
Which meals are included?
Breakfast is included after each hotel night. Lunch is included on the Cairo sightseeing day and eclipse day, giving five breakfasts and two lunches in total. Hotel dinners and other lunches are excluded. Drinking water is included during eclipse viewing; other drinks are excluded.
Are eclipse glasses provided?
Yes. Eclipse glasses and a briefing are included. Use the glasses during the partial phases and follow the briefing instructions. Ordinary sunglasses do not provide suitable protection for direct solar viewing. Photographic equipment and magnifying optics require their own appropriate solar filters.
Which flights and transfers are included?
Return domestic flights between Cairo and Luxor are included, along with the organised airport, hotel and sightseeing transfers needed for the itinerary. International flights are excluded.
How much walking is involved?
Temple and tomb visits involve walking, steps and uneven surfaces. There are early starts and breaks, but sightseeing still involves exposure to summer heat. Tell us about mobility needs before booking so the arrangements can be assessed.
Are the Great Pyramid interior and special tomb tickets included?
Standard entrance tickets for the listed sightseeing are included. Admission inside the Great Pyramid and separately ticketed tombs are excluded unless expressly added to your booking.
Can I add Abu Simbel?
Abu Simbel is outside this Cairo and Luxor itinerary. It can be considered as an optional addition at extra cost, requiring separate transport and potentially extra nights. It is not included in this six-day tour.
Which hotels will we stay in?
The holiday uses five-star hotels in Cairo and Luxor. Your quotation will identify the properties and room categories. The two consecutive Luxor nights keep you in the city before and after eclipse viewing.
