About This Cruise

The Kazazian Berge is a 55 metre sailing boat that cruises the Nile between Luxor and Aswan on private charter only. She carries a maximum of 18 guests, so the vessel, her crew and her programme belong to your party alone.

She sails without an engine. When the wind drops a small tender tows her, which means there is no motor running beneath you and nights at anchor are genuinely quiet. It is the thing most guests notice first, and the reason the boat suits travellers who want the river rather than a schedule.

Signature feature: No engine on board, so nights at anchor stay quiet

Accommodation is arranged over two decks: eight Nile-view cabins of 21 square metres each, and an Owner's Suite of 60 square metres with panoramic views over the river. Every cabin has full-width windows, a king or twin bed, a marble bathroom with a spacious shower, and 100 percent Egyptian cotton linen, towels and robes.

In-cabin comforts include a Nespresso machine and tea station, a fully stocked minibar, satellite television, a digital safe, air conditioning with a thermostat, and housekeeping twice daily. Complimentary WiFi, overnight dry cleaning and a shoe shine service run throughout the sailing.

The panoramic lounge on the upper deck seats twenty and serves drinks, snacks and afternoon tea through the day. A few steps away the front deck seats eighteen across shaded and open sunbeds, with a plunge pool fitted with water jets, open from six in the morning until six in the evening.

Dining is a la carte rather than buffet. Breakfast is served in the main restaurant, in your cabin or on deck on request, while lunch and dinner run to four courses drawing on Egyptian, Mediterranean and international cooking. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available on request. A crew of 22, including five chefs, looks after a maximum of 18 guests.

Set-piece evenings run through every sailing: a welcome cocktail with the crew on the first night, an oriental night of Egyptian food and music, afternoon high tea, and a gourmet candlelit dinner laid out on a private island beside the Nile, which is offered as an optional extra.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Kazazian Berge different from a regular Nile cruise ship?
Size and privacy. A standard Nile cruise ship carries well over a hundred guests on a fixed timetable. The Kazazian Berge carries a maximum of 18, goes out on private charter only, and sails without an engine, so nights at anchor are quiet. With a crew of 22 on board there is roughly one crew member for every guest.
How many cabins and guests does the Kazazian Berge carry?
Eight Nile-view cabins of 21 square metres each, plus an Owner's Suite of 60 square metres, carrying up to 18 guests in total. Maximum occupancy is two adults per room. Cabins can be made up with a king bed or twin beds, and the suite has a king bed.
Can I book a single cabin, or do I have to take the whole boat?
The Kazazian Berge is available on whole-boat charter only, so there are no individual cabins sold on set departure dates. That means the boat, the crew and the programme are yours alone, and the dates are built around you rather than a published schedule.
Which routes does the Kazazian Berge sail, and how long are they?
Two programmes: Aswan to Luxor over four nights, and Luxor to Aswan over five nights. Karnak and Luxor Temple, Edfu, Kom Ombo, the sandstone quarries at Gabal El Silsila seen from the deck and the sandbank at Herbyab Island feature on both. The five-night sailing also covers the Luxor West Bank and a full day in Aswan at Philae Temple and the High Dam. Since the boat is chartered whole, the sightseeing can be extended or reshuffled to suit you.
How do rates and booking work?
Because the boat is chartered whole, rates are quoted per sailing rather than per person, and they vary with the season, the length of the programme and the number of guests. Tell us your dates, how many are travelling and which programme you prefer, and we will send a tailored quote. Departures are flexible and built around your dates.
