About This Cruise

The Kazazian Arax is the most exclusive vessel we charter on the Nile. Sixty metres, eighteen guests, twenty four crew, and available on private charter only, so the boat, the crew, the route and the menus are arranged around one party at a time.

She was built in 2023 for guests who are used to having things done their way. The Owner's Suite alone runs to 140 square metres across two bedrooms, with a private outdoor area directly on the water. There is a spa, a sauna, a gym, a plunge pool, and 556 square metres of open deck. What happens on board, from the cooking to the smallest detail of how a day is shaped, is arranged to request.

Signature feature: A 140 square metre Owner's Suite with two bedrooms and its own deck

Nine rooms are spread over three decks: six cabins of 26 square metres, two suites of 39 square metres, and the Owner's Suite at 140 square metres with two bedrooms and its own deck on the river. Every room has full-width windows, original artwork, 100 percent Egyptian cotton fabrics, and a marble bathroom with a rain shower looking out over the water. Cabins and suites take two adults, the Owner's Suite takes four, and an extra bed can be added to a suite.

In-room comforts include a Nespresso machine and tea station, a fully stocked minibar, satellite television, a digital safe, air conditioning, housekeeping twice daily, imported mineral water and fresh flowers. Complimentary WiFi, overnight dry cleaning and a shoe shine service run throughout the sailing.

The panoramic lounge sits on the middle deck behind floor to ceiling glass, with an all-day drinks and snacks bar and afternoon tea served daily. A few steps away the deck seats eighteen across shaded and open areas and carries a plunge pool with water jets. Outdoor dining for eighteen is set at the back of the main deck, and the top deck adds an outdoor bar and the greater part of the 556 square metres of open space. The top deck also carries a marked helicopter landing pad.

There is a fitness centre with current equipment from the major brands, and a private spa with a sauna. A wellness therapist travels with the crew.

Dining is a la carte rather than buffet. Breakfast is served in the restaurant, in your room or on deck, and lunch and dinner run to four courses drawing on Egyptian, Mediterranean and international cooking. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available on request, and menus are built around what you ask for. A crew of 24, including four chefs, looks after a maximum of 18 guests.

Set-piece moments run through every sailing: a welcome cocktail with the crew, a sun session with cold drinks on the top deck as she cruises, an oriental night of Egyptian food and music, afternoon high tea, and a picnic laid out on a sandbank with swimming from the boat. Additional expeditions can be arranged on request.

She travels under sail when the wind serves and under her own power when it does not, and can also be taken under tow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Kazazian Arax different from other Nile cruises?
Scale and privacy. She is 60 metres and carries a maximum of 18 guests with 24 crew, which is better than three crew members for every two guests, and she sails on private charter only. On board there is a spa with a sauna, a fitness centre, a plunge pool and 556 square metres of open deck, none of which you will find on a conventional Nile cruise ship.
How many cabins and guests does the Kazazian Arax carry?
Nine rooms in total: six cabins of 26 square metres, two suites of 39 square metres, and an Owner's Suite of 140 square metres with two bedrooms and a private outdoor area on the water. Maximum capacity is 18 guests. Cabins and suites take two adults, the Owner's Suite takes four, and an extra bed can be added to a suite on request.
Can I book a single cabin, or do I have to take the whole boat?
Whole-boat charter only. There are no individual cabins sold on set departure dates, which is what allows the dates, the pace, the menus and the shore programme to be arranged around your party rather than a published schedule.
Which routes does the Kazazian Arax sail, and how long are they?
Two programmes: Aswan to Luxor over four nights, and Luxor to Aswan over five nights. Both include Karnak and Luxor Temple, Edfu and Kom Ombo, the quarries at Gabal El Silsila from the deck, and time on the sandbank at Herbyab Island. The five-night sailing adds the Luxor West Bank and a full day in Aswan at Philae Temple and the High Dam. Because the boat goes out for one party at a time, sightseeing can be added or rearranged around your plans on request.
How much can be tailored on board?
A great deal. Because the boat goes out for one party at a time, the menus, the timing of meals, the pace of the sightseeing and the way each day is arranged are all set around you. Special requests, celebrations and additional expeditions can be arranged with notice, and the crew includes four chefs and a wellness therapist.
